SEN Teaching Assistant (PMLD) – Chelmsford, Essex – As soon as possible start
Responsibilities
- Specialised Support: Provide targeted assistance to students with a range of needs, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their individual needs.
- Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of students, offering feedback to teachers and parents to ensure that they are reaching key developmental milestones.
- Emotional Support: Create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, offering emotional guidance to help students manage their anxieties and sensory sensitivities.
- Communication: Maintain strong lines of communication with teachers, parents, and professionals involved in each student\'s education, ensuring a holistic approach to their development.
- Promoting Inclusion: Encourage a sense of belonging for students, promoting social integration and inclusivity within the school community.
Requirements
- Relevant experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly with students with profound and multiple learning difficulties
- Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team, adapting to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Experience in implementing individualised learning plans (IEPs) and supporting students in both one-on-one and group settings is advantageous.
