SEN Teaching Assistant (PMLD) – Chelmsford, Essex – As soon as possible start

Responsibilities
  1. Specialised Support: Provide targeted assistance to students with a range of needs, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their individual needs.
  2. Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of students, offering feedback to teachers and parents to ensure that they are reaching key developmental milestones.
  3. Emotional Support: Create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, offering emotional guidance to help students manage their anxieties and sensory sensitivities.
  4. Communication: Maintain strong lines of communication with teachers, parents, and professionals involved in each student\'s education, ensuring a holistic approach to their development.
  5. Promoting Inclusion: Encourage a sense of belonging for students, promoting social integration and inclusivity within the school community.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly with students with profound and multiple learning difficulties
  • Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team, adapting to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Experience in implementing individualised learning plans (IEPs) and supporting students in both one-on-one and group settings is advantageous.
