Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for a Brent primary school in North West London. The role is full-time and term-time only, supporting pupils with ASD, SLCN, SEMH through 1:1 and small-group tasks.

You will work with class teachers and the school SENCO to adapt activities, manage sensory needs, and help create an inclusive learning environment that enables every pupil to thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with complex needs including ASD, SLCN and SEMH.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or higher is required.
• Enhanced DBS check is clear and up to date.
• Ability to adapt activities to individual EHCP targets.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 learning support with tailored tasks and sensory breaks.
• Use visual schedules, PECS, and Makaton to foster participation.
• Support emotional regulation and smooth transitions.
• Progress tracking in collaboration with SENCO and therapists.
