Job summary

A recruitment agency is looking for a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs in Wolverhampton. The ideal candidate will have experience in this field, be patient, and possess excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include providing tailored support and assisting with Individual Education Plans (IEPs). This is a temporary position with a competitive salary based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEN is essential.
  • Strong understanding of autism, ADHD, and speech/language difficulties.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with behavioural, emotional, or physical needs.
  • Help with classroom organisation and preparation of learning materials.
  • Supervise students during lessons, break times, and school activities.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective support.
