Job DescriptionWe are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Wolverhampton, supporting students with special educational needs (SEN). The role involves working closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support, ensuring students can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students with behavioural, emotional, or physical needs
  • Help with classroom organisation and preparation of learning materials
  • Supervise students during lessons, break times, and school activities
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective support
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
  • Strong understanding of various SEN conditions, including autism, ADHD, and speech/language difficulties
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
