Job summary

Flourish Education are recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Coventry, starting in January 2027 and continuing until July 2027. The school supports pupils with SEMH, Autism, ADHD and other needs.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils access an individualized curriculum and maintain a calm, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Experience in a specialist school or SEND setting.
• Knowledge of SEMH, Autism and ADHD.
• Experience supporting challenging behaviour.
• Understanding of emotional regulation strategies.
• Resilient and patient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, behavioural needs and communication difficulties. You will become part of a dedicated specialist team, providing consistent support and helping pupils to access education in a structured and supportive environment.

This is a long-term opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviour.

Job Role:

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is based in Coventry and is easily commutable from Tile Hill, Allesley, Canley, Earlsdon, Binley, Walsgrave, Nuneaton, Bedworth and surrounding areas.

Coventry has dedicated specialist provision for pupils with SEND, including specialist schools supporting pupils with SEMH and a broad range of complex needs.
