Job summary

Flourish Education are recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Coventry, starting in January 2027 and continuing until July 2027. The school supports pupils with SEMH, Autism, ADHD and other needs.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils access an individualized curriculum and maintain a calm, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Experience in a specialist school or SEND setting.
• Knowledge of SEMH, Autism and ADHD.
• Experience supporting challenging behaviour.
• Understanding of emotional regulation strategies.
• Resilient and patient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex SEN and additional needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
• Work with pupils with SEMH, ASD and ADHD.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Assist pupils with accessing their individualised curriculum.
• Follow individual support and behaviour plans.
• Encourage independence and social development.
• Work alongside specialist teachers and wider support staff.
• Maintain a calm, structured and supportive environment.
