Job summary

Flourish Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Reception child with ASD in a Kingswinford-based SEN Resource Base. This full-time, long-term role runs until July 2026, with ongoing collaboration from a specialist SEN team and regular consultant support.

The ideal candidate will have Level 2/3 TA qualifications, 1:1 ASD experience, strong behaviour management, and solid EYFS knowledge, plus an up-to-date DBS and excellent references.

Qualifications

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience supporting children with ASD, ideally on a 1:1 basis.
  • Confidence in managing and reducing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
  • The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young children.
  • Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.
  • A minimum of two excellent references.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Reception child with ASD and behavioural needs.
  • Support the child’s learning, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider SEN team to implement individual support strategies
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

Flourish Education are working closely with a welcoming Primary School in Kingswinford, who are seeking a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged child within their SEN Resource Base.

This is a full-time, long-term position, starting this term, and continuing until July 2026, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a crucial stage of a child’s development.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Reception child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioural needs
  • Support the child’s learning, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider SEN team to implement individual support strategies
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
  • Support the child both within the SEN Resource Base and in classroom-based activities where appropriate

Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience supporting children with ASD, ideally on a 1:1 basis

Working for Flourish Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will receive:

  • Competitive Salary –£18,049- £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year, and previous experience
