SEN Teaching Assistant - Specialist Academic & Therapeutic Provision

We are looking for a caring and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a unique and supportive provision for students aged 5-16 who have experienced challenges in mainstream education.

This setting combines academic learning with therapeutic support in a creative, nurturing environment, helping students to re-engage with education, build confidence, and achieve their potential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) and additional learning needs.
  • Assist in delivering tailored lessons and therapeutic activities that promote engagement, wellbeing, and progress.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support emotional regulation, resilience, and personal growth.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide holistic support.
  • Encourage students to develop independence and celebrate achievements, both big and small.
Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN/SEMH, ideally in a school or alternative provision.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
