We have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive school in Bromley. This role offers the chance to work alongside experienced educators, gain valuable classroom experience, and support students in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Individualised Support: Work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs, providing tailored support and adapting teaching materials to meet their unique requirements.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring that all students are included and supported in their learning activities.
  • Behaviour Management: Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting respectful behaviour and implementing strategies to support student engagement.
  • Monitoring Progress: Observe and report on student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans.
  • Personal Care: Support students with personal care needs when required, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the school day.
  • Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with teaching staff, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Extracurricular Involvement: Contribute to the wider school community by assisting in extracurricular activities, helping to foster student engagement and personal development.
  • Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with additional needs.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, either in a school setting or with relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach, demonstrating your commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across various subjects and with different teaching styles.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive school environment.
  • Enhanced DBS registered to the update service.
