• The role is based in an SEN School in South Shields supporting pupils aged 2-11, with opportunities to work across all year groups based on your preference and specialization.

Pay, Hours, and Contract

• Pay: Between £80-100 per day

About the Role

• Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and challenging behaviors across the primary age range.
• Providing support on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Pupils may have conditions such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, SLD, MLD, and PMLD, and may require personal care or be non-verbal/pre-verbal.
• Building rapport and positive relationships to help pupils engage and progress academically and socially.
• Working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues to understand and cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of pupils.

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements

• A supporting teaching and learning or childcare qualification (desired).
• Experience working with children in UK schools.
• Experience in an SEN setting (desired).
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the update service or willingness to apply for one.
• Two professional child-related references from the last two years.
