Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate, proactive, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a Secondary PRU setting in Billingham. This is a full-time role offering the chance to build positive relationships and make a long-term impact on pupils' lives and development.

About the Setting:
  • The role is based in an inspirational PRU in Billingham.
  • Supports pupils across all secondary year groups, depending on your preference and expertise.
  • The school has a strong supportive culture and leadership team, promoting teamwork and high standards.
Pay, Hours, and Contract:
  • Pay: £80-95 per day
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Contract: Temporary until July 2025
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Location: Billingham
About the Role:
  • Support pupils who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream schools, including those with challenging behaviour and SEN such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and PMLD.
  • Assist pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, fostering engagement and progress.
  • Build rapport and positive relationships to support academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and colleagues to understand and adapt to pupils' diverse needs and learning styles.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare qualification (desired)
  • Experience working with children in UK schools
  • Experience in SEN or PRU settings (desired)
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced child DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply
  • Two professional child-related references from the last two years
