Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Houghton-le-Spring on a full-time basis. About the School:
* The role is based in an inspirational SEN School setting in Houghton-le-Spring.
* The School supports pupils across the Primary School age range (2-11) and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups depending on your preference and specialism.
* The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.
Pay, Hours and Contract:
* Pay – Between £80-100 per day DOE
* Hours –
* Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.
* Start Date – ASAP.
* Location – Houghton-le-Spring
About the Role:
* The role involves supporting pupils working at EYFS/KS1 level who have a wide range of SEND and challenging behaviour.
* Supporting pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups, with pupils having conditions such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, SLD, MLD.
* Some pupils may require personal care; some may be non-verbal or pre-verbal.
* Building rapport and positive relationships with pupils to facilitate engagement and progress.
* Developing an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of pupils, working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
* A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
* Experience working with children in UK schools
* Experience within an SEN School setting (desired)
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude
* Right to Work in the UK
* An enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to obtain one
* Professional references covering the last two years
