Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in South Shields to start ASAP on a full-time basis. • The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in South Shields.
• The School supports pupils aged 4-19 with opportunities to support across all years depending on your preference and specialism.
• The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours, and Contract:

• Pay – Between £80-95 per day
• Hours – Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025, Temporary Contract
• Start Date – ASAP
• Location – South Shields

About the Role:

• The role involves supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• The School supports pupils with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, aged 4-19, with roles available across this age range based on your preference and experience.
• Some pupils may be non-verbal and require Personal Care; willingness to support in these contexts is essential.
• Developing an understanding of different pupils' needs and learning styles is key, working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
• Experience working with children in UK schools
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Resilient, proactive, and positive nature
• Right to Work in the UK
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
