Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate, proactive, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils in an inspirational SEND School in Newcastle, starting ASAP. This is a full-time or part-time role with the opportunity to make a positive impact on pupils' lives, progress, and development.

About the School:

• Located in an inspirational SEND School in Newcastle.
• Supports pupils aged 5-16, with opportunities across all year groups based on your preference and expertise.
• Features an outstanding supportive culture and leadership team, with staff working collaboratively within classrooms.

Pay, Hours, and Contract:

• Pay: £80-£100 per day
• Hours: Full-time or part-time, 1-5 days per week based on availability and preference.
• Contract: Temporary until July 2025, with potential for extension.
• Start Date: ASAP
• Location: Newcastle

Role Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with varied SEND and challenging behaviors, both 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, aged 4-19, depending on your experience and preferences.
• Support pupils who may be non-verbal or require personal care, demonstrating willingness to assist in these areas.
• Develop understanding of individual needs and learning styles, working closely with class teachers and colleagues.

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:

• Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare qualification (desired).
• Experience working with children in UK schools.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
