Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for SEND learners in Waterlooville. You will work across homes and community settings, delivering holistic sessions tailored to each student’s needs.

Role emphasizes building confidence, emotional regulation, and life skills alongside academics, with flexible hours and a rolling interview process. DBS and references required where possible.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma, PDA, mental health).
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references are preferred.
• UK-based with the right to work in the UK; ability to work in homes and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people who may have faced challenges in education.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
• Support development of life skills, confidence, and independence using trauma-informed approaches.
