Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to work across Towcester and surrounding areas. You will provide one-to-one mentoring and tailored learning support in homes and community settings, not just in classrooms.

The role emphasizes confidence-building, emotional regulation, and life skills alongside education. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in roles supporting SEND learners, are DBS-checked or DBS-eligible, and can work flexibly in a hybrid, in-person setting with variable

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma, PDA, mental health).
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references are required or can be facilitated.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people facing challenges in education.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative, interest-based activities.
• Support life skills, confidence, and independence using trauma-informed approaches.
• Provide feedback and reflections to track progress and adapt support as needed.
