Job summary

Antrim-Ballymena-Dunclug Primary School invites applications for a Part-Time Classroom Assistant – Special Educational Needs. Under the direction of the class teacher, you will support pupils with SEN in and out of the classroom, assisting with personal care, materials, and activities to enable participation.

The role requires understanding of pupil needs, safeguarding knowledge, and the ability to work flexibly within a team. 25 hours per week, 9am–2pm, term-time with holidays as offered.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria include Level 2 qualification or 12 months' experience in a learning environment.
• Ability to support pupils with SEN, promote inclusion and manage learning environments.
• Effective planning, communication and teamwork to support pupils' progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist with educational support and care for pupils with SEN.
• Support personal needs including dietary, feeding and toileting as required.
• Assist with implementing education and care plans and monitoring pupil progress.
