Job summary

Victoria Primary School Ballyhalbert is seeking a part-time Classroom Assistant (SEN) to support pupils with special educational needs under the guidance of teaching staff. The role includes assisting with curriculum access, personal care, and behavioural support within a school environment.

The post requires a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and some experience in a learning setting; flexible working during school holidays is offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Essential: Level 2 qualification or 12 months' experience in a formal learning environment.
• Desirable: Level 3 qualification; experience with pupils with SEN; ability to use digital learning tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the educational support and care of pupils with SEN.
• Support pupils to access the curriculum and participate in programmes.
• Assist with personal needs and moving around the school.
• Contribute to behaviour management and safety in and out of the classroom.
• Assist with classroom administration and resources as directed.
