Job summary

Carrickfergus Academy invites applications for a Part-Time Classroom Assistant supporting pupils with special educational needs. Under the guidance of the principal and teaching staff, you will assist with learning activities, personal care, and the implementation of Education Plans to enable access to the curriculum.

The role requires a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and/or relevant experience in a learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in a relevant area and/or experience in learning environment.
• Ability to support pupils with SEN, promote inclusion and assist with learning activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with support and care of pupils with SEN, including personal needs and curriculum access.
• Contribute to inclusion in mainstream schooling under supervision.
• Support with behavioural management, movement, and transport routines.
• Prepare resources and assist with records and assessments.

Education
