Overview

Ochil House is an Additional Support Needs secondary provision set within Wallace High School in Stirling. We are seeking a teacher to join our provision, supporting the learning of our wonderful group of young people. Each class is led and managed on a day to day basis by a Class Teacher. Due to the complex nature of the needs of many of our pupils we have a large team of Support for Learning Assistants who support the day to day care and learning for our pupils. Our curriculum at both BGE and Senior Phase is structured to maximise the breadth of experience for our learners and to minimise barriers. Our pupils work towards relevant national qualifications, supported both in main Ochil house and with the support of the mainstream teachers at Wallace High School. Working alongside allied health professionals is a significant part of our curriculum planning.

Responsibilities

You will be required to teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and assessing of pupil’s work; and assist in developing the school curriculum. You will work in partnership with parents and carers, support staff and other professionals and contribute towards the positive ethos and working life of the school.

Qualifications and professional development

The successful candidate will undertake training appropriate to the position and will be well supported by fellow professionals through strong team work and collegiate development. You will have a relevant teaching qualification (either primary or secondary) together with GTCS registration. With excellent interpersonal skills you will have good demonstrable classroom practice with sound knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence, including the Milestones for Complex Additional Support Needs.
