Brooks Ecological, an Origin Enterprises company, is an ecology‑led consultancy with a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from large‑scale habitat restoration and management schemes to strategic urban extensions and smaller private initiatives. With clients ranging from local authorities, house builders, schools, charities, and householders, we offer an exciting variety of projects and the chance to be part of a growing, collaborative team. We are looking for enthusiastic Seasonal Ecologists who are keen to gain valuable ecological survey experience and develop key fieldwork skills. The role is a 6‑month fixed‑term contract starting April 2026, with Full‑time or Part‑time hours (minimum 15 hours per week).

Responsibilities
  • Undertake night‑time bat survey work, including bat emergence surveys as part of a team, or bat transects and static monitoring as part of a two‑person unit.
  • Occasional daytime surveys may also be available.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Degree in Ecology or related field, or working towards it, or prior ecological surveying experience.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own car (desirable).
  • Willingness to travel to and from site and Guiseley office near Leeds.
  • Mobile phone for liaison with the office.
  • Willingness to work outside normal office hours.

All necessary training will be provided in house by Brooks Ecological.
