Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a thriving secondary school in Tameside, seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their dedicated science department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a science graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting.

As a vital member of the team, you will support the delivery of engaging practical science lessons by preparing and maintaining equipment, managing resources, and ensuring a safe and well-organised laboratory environment.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for science lessons
  • Supporting teachers and students during practical experiments
  • Cleaning and maintaining lab apparatus and workspaces
  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies when necessary
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards
  • Assisting with administrative tasks related to the science department
Requirements
  • A degree in a science-related subject is essential - applications without a science degree cannot be considered
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • A practical and methodical approach to work
  • Previous experience in a laboratory or school environment is desirable but not essential
  • A current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
