Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an enthusiastic School Administrator/Receptionist for a primary school in Lambeth. This role requires previous administration experience in an educational setting and excellent communication skills. The position is Monday to Friday, offering a pay rate of £16 to £18 per hour based on experience. Suitable candidates will help manage inquiries, greet visitors, maintain pupil records, and support the school's operational tasks. An Enhanced DBS is required, and the role starts in January 2026.

Qualifications

  • Previous administration experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm
Rate of pay: 16 - 18 per hour depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries efficiently and professionally
  • Greeting visitors, parents, and pupils in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Carrying out general administrative tasks
  • Maintaining and updating pupil records using SIMS, Bromcom or Arbor systems
  • Supporting staff and leadership with day-to-day operational tasks
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous administration experience in a school or educational setting
  • Working knowledge of SIMS, Arbor, or other school database systems
  • A friendly and professional manner with excellent communication skills
Requirements
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service - or willingness to obtain one
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday

This role is to start in January 2026, but successful candidates may be required to attend a paid trial day prior to start.
