Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced and highly organised School Office Manager to lead the day-to-day administration of a welcoming, community-focused primary school. This is a pivotal role at the heart of the school, ensuring smooth operations while providing outstanding support to pupils, families and staff.

Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team, you will oversee all aspects of school administration, compliance and data management. In this one-form-entry setting, this is a hands‑on position where your contribution will be highly valued and visible across the whole school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the daily operation of the school office
  • Deliver a professional, welcoming front-of-house service
  • Maintain and develop administrative procedures in line with statutory and Local Authority requirements
  • Manage pupil data, attendance records and statutory returns
  • Support financial processes including invoices and payments
  • Prepare and monitor risk assessments for trips and activities
  • Provide safeguarding administrative support with accurate record keeping
  • Oversee procurement, contracts and office resources
  • Ensure effective use of the school MIS system
  • Provide high-level administrative support to senior leaders
  • Line manage administrative staff
  • Contribute to whole-school planning and development

Person Specification
