Job summary

Eani is seeking a Cook to assist the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor in preparing and cooking meals, contributing to a hygienic service and customer satisfaction. You will participate in menu preparation, portion control and dietary meals as required, with a focus on safe kitchen practices and teamwork.

The role involves assisting with record keeping, hygiene control, stock-taking, and general kitchen management. You will help promote the service and may supervise other staff under guidance.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or City & Guilds 706-1 & 706-2 or equivalent or higher relevant qualification
• Two years’ experience of food preparation and cooking within a catering establishment
• Knowledge of HACCP
• Willingness to undertake job related training

Responsibilities

• Skilled cooking activities for the full range of meals and menu preparation
• Record keeping and hygiene/temperature control in the kitchen
• Supervision of other staff and training where required
• Operational control of service points including transported meals
• General kitchen duties and assisting in stock-taking and stores management
• Assist in promoting the service to parents, principals and customers to increase uptake
• Duties delegated in service provision
