Job summary

Eani is seeking a Catering Assistant to participate in the daily operation of the Catering Unit under supervision. You will help with basic food prep, serving meals, maintaining dining areas and ensuring hygienic, high-quality service for pupils.

The role requires good teamwork, reliability, and willingness to undergo training to meet essential criteria. A positive attitude to school-values and customer care is essential.

Qualifications

• Effective communication to support teamwork and engagement with customers.
• Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities; able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Motivation toward providing excellent food and customer service for children and young people.
• Willingness to undertake job-related training.

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages, including vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks, including transported meals.
• Assisting with promotion of meals to pupils, parents and principal.
• Maintaining contact with the central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing the dining area: setting tables and serving points.
• Carrying out general kitchen and dining room duties including washing up.
• Cleaning the kitchen/servery and dining areas including floors and walls.
• Recording temperatures for control purposes.
• Securing premises as required.
• Completing duties in line with statutory requirements and codes of practice.
• Carrying out duties within the grade and promoting the school's values/ethos.
