Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting an IT Technician for a forward-thinking secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan. The role covers day-to-day IT support across a mixed environment (Microsoft, Apple, ChromeOS) and supports a 1:1 iPad programme.

You will diagnose hardware and software issues, install and maintain equipment, and assist with MIS and digital systems in a school setting. This is a hands-on role in a busy educational IT team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an IT support or similar role.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Confident supporting users with different levels of technical ability.
• Experience with Microsoft and/or Apple environments.
• Good understanding of hardware, software and network systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Organised, proactive and a team player.
• Experience working within a school or education environment desirable.
• Enhanced DBS for Children on the DBS Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Providing day-to-day IT support to teachers, support staff and pupils
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
• Providing technical support both in person and remotely
• Installing, configuring and maintaining IT equipment and systems
• Supporting Microsoft, macOS, iOS and Google Workspace platforms
• Supporting the school's 1:1 iPad programme
• Assisting with the management and maintenance of IT assets and equipment
• Supporting network performance and security
• Providing technical support for the school's MIS
• Assisting with the school's website and digital systems
