Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting for an IT Technician to join a forward-thinking secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan. The school has invested heavily in its IT infrastructure and supports Microsoft, Apple and ChromeOS technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide hands-on technical support for teachers, staff and pupils, diagnose hardware and software issues, and help maintain the school's digital systems and networks.

Qualifications

• Experience in an IT support or IT technician role.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Confident supporting users with varying levels of ability.
• Experience in Microsoft and/or Apple environments.
• Good understanding of hardware, software and networks.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Organised and proactive team player.
• Experience in school or education environment would be desirable.
• Enhanced DBS for Children on the DBS Update Service is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing day-to-day IT support to teachers, staff and pupils.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
• Providing technical support both in person and remotely.
• Installing, configuring and maintaining IT equipment and systems.
• Supporting Microsoft, macOS, iOS and Google Workspace platforms.
• Supporting the school's 1:1 iPad programme.
• Assisting with the management and maintenance of IT assets and equipment.
• Supporting network performance and security.
• Providing technical support for the MIS.
• Assisting with the school's website and digital systems.
• Supporting the effective use of technology across teaching and learning.
