Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting an IT Technician for a forward-thinking secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan. The role covers day-to-day IT support across a mixed environment (Microsoft, Apple, ChromeOS) and supports a 1:1 iPad programme.

You will diagnose hardware and software issues, install and maintain equipment, and assist with MIS and digital systems in a school setting. This is a hands-on role in a busy educational IT team.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an IT support or similar role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident supporting users with different levels of technical ability.
  • Experience with Microsoft and/or Apple environments.
  • Good understanding of hardware, software and network systems.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Organised, proactive and a team player.
  • Experience working within a school or education environment desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS for Children on the DBS Update Service.

Responsibilities

Aspire People are recruiting for an IT Technician to join a forward-thinking secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The school has invested heavily in its IT infrastructure and has been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School, with a modern hybrid IT environment incorporating Microsoft, Apple and ChromeOS technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys providing hands‑on technical support and wants to work in an environment where technology plays a central role in teaching and learning.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing day‑to‑day IT support to teachers, support staff and pupils
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
  • Providing technical support both in person and remotely
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining IT equipment and systems
  • Supporting Microsoft, macOS, iOS and Google Workspace platforms

We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in an IT support, IT technician or similar technical role
