Could you make a positive contribution to our school?

We are recruiting for a co-opted governor to join our friendly governing body. Our governors come from a range of different backgrounds, skills and experience but all share a common interest of wanting the best possible education for the children in our school. We would be particularly keen to hear from volunteers with any Education or Health & Safety experience.

Governors are essential for the effectiveness and success of the school, and it is an extremely rewarding and fulfilling role. All school Governors serve a 4 year term.

Voluntary Unpaid Position

Lightmoor Village Primary School is a one form-entry primary school in Telford for children from 3 to 11 years of age.

Being a school governor is a challenging but hugely rewarding role. It will give you the chance of making a real difference to young people, give something back to your local community and use and develop your skills. Schools need governing bodies that have a balance and diversity of knowledge, skills and experience to enable it to be effective.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils, we expect all staff, governors and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is subject to a satisfactory DBS and Section 128 check. Training is available for all governors and those new to being a governor are expected to attend induction training. All of our governors are expected to follow the Code of Conduct.

Informal visits are encouraged. Please contact the school to arrange a time. If you would like to discuss the roles before applying, please contact Mrs Lucy Cowan at the school.
