Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Building Supervisor (with supervision) to provide on-site supervision, cleaning and non-cleaning services under guidance of the School Principal. You will manage security, upkeeping of mechanical/electrical systems, and supervise cleaning staff to maintain Education Authority standards.

The role includes door/window security, alarm systems, and coordinating with management on routine operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months’ demonstrable experience as an assistant building supervisor and/or building supervisor in a school setting.
• Experience supervising staff or cleaning teams.
• Be a key holder able to respond to call outs at short notice as required by the role.
• As per application process, provide clear evidence of essential criteria in the shortlist stage.

Responsibilities

• Security of premises and contents, opening/closing, locking doors/windows.
• Operate and monitor security and fire alarm systems; report faults.
• Oversee mechanical/electrical plant operation, energy use and basic maintenance.
• Plan and supervise cleaning, ensure standards and coordination with cleaning staff.
• Manage porterage tasks including handling stores, deliveries and waste.
• Prepare reports on premises cleaning and defects; liaise with management.
• Assist with elections duties and general building duties as required.
• General duties to ensure safe, well-maintained school facilities.
