Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to lead the cleaning team within a school or facility. You will plan and supervise daily cleaning operations, ensuring EA standards are met and safety procedures are followed.

The role requires experience in cleaning supervision, strong organisational skills and the ability to train staff and manage supplies within budget. The post emphasises compliance with health and safety requirements and effective liaison with building

Qualifications

• Two years' experience of cleaning outside the home environment.
• Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and control the work of cleaning staff to meet EA standards; supervisor also cleans.
• Carry out induction and refresher training for staff.
• Liaise with the building manager on day-to-day cleaning issues.
• Investigate and address complaints related to cleaning provision.
• Ensure supplies and light equipment are stocked within budget and well maintained.
• Monitor materials and equipment and advise on suitability.
• Recommend changes to procedures to improve economy and standards.
• Ensure cleaning standards meet EA requirements.
• Allocate keys to staff and ensure they're returned daily.
• Plan periodic work with service users and report to Area Co-ordinator.
• Maintain staff attendance, holidays and absence records.
• Keep inventory and stock records for consumables and equipment.
