Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Building Supervisor (with no supervision) to manage security, cleaning and porterage within school premises. The role requires opening/closing responsibilities, operating security systems and ensuring safety across facilities.

Responsibilities include supervising cleaning staff where needed, coordinating with the School Principal, and preparing premises for events and routine use, while complying with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months’ demonstrable experience in a similar role.
• As a key holder, be prepared to respond to call outs at short notice, including unsociable hours.
• Knowledge of security systems and health and safety requirements relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the premises daily and secure buildings.
• Monitor and operate security systems and alarms; report faults.
• Plan and supervise cleaning/porterage activities within the building.
• Prepare premises for after-school activities and examinations.
• Maintain records and reports of cleaning, security and incidents.
