Job summary

The Education Authority in Northern Ireland is seeking a School Cleaner to join a cleaning team, responsible for maintaining hygiene across educational facilities. The post requires carrying out a range of cleaning tasks and to work in line with health and safety regulations.

You will work under the Building Supervisor, using cleaning equipment safely and reporting any defects. Training will be provided to meet higher-grade duties and to support safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with school cleaning and understanding of duties.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and COSHH regulations.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and health & safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub and polish floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean carpets/matting and remove stains.
• Clean toilets and showers and fixtures.
• Dust ledges and walls up to 3.35 m; polish furniture.
• Empty litter bins and dispose of waste to designated points.
• Report defects and wear to supervisor.
