Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a Building Supervisor (with no supervision) to manage security, cleaning, and maintenance across school premises. The role includes opening/closing the site, lock-up duties, monitoring alarms, and coordinating cleaning staff and portering tasks under the line manager's direction.

The post requires experience in a school setting, ability to respond to call-outs, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Training may be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months' demonstrable experience in a school environment as an assistant building supervisor and/or building supervisor and/or caretaker and/or cleaner.

Responsibilities

• Ensure security of premises, windows, doors and gates and respond to break-ins or vandalism.
• Operate and monitor security and alarm systems and report faults.
• Plan and supervise cleaning duties and maintain hygiene standards across the premises.
• Manage portering tasks including delivery, storage, and setting up rooms for events or exams.
• Prepare reports on cleaning and facilities, maintain stock records, and supervise contractors when required.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and school policies.
