Caretaker / Site Assistant

Location: Bordon, Hampshire (Hollywater area)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm

A friendly and community-focused school in the Hollywater area of Bordon is looking to appoint a Caretaker / Site Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The school benefits from a well-established site with indoor and outdoor spaces, including classrooms, shared facilities, playgrounds, and green areas. It is a supportive and inclusive setting that values teamwork, respect, and contribution from all members of its community.

This is a varied and hands‑on role, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in keeping buildings and outdoor spaces running smoothly. The school welcomes applications from individuals with maintenance experience gained in a range of settings, such as housing, facilities, trades, retail, hospitality, healthcare, or community environments.

Full training and support will be provided to help the successful candidate settle into the role.

  • Maintain the safety, security, and general appearance of the school site

  • Carry out routine checks, minor repairs, and basic maintenance tasks

  • Keep outdoor areas such as playgrounds, paths, and entrances clean and safe

  • Support the setup of rooms and spaces for school activities and events

  • Assist with deliveries, contractors, and on‑site visitors

  • Carry out health and safety checks and report any issues appropriately

  • Work collaboratively with school staff to support the smooth running of the site

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
