A vibrant primary school is seeking an administrative assistant to provide clerical and administrative support to the School Business Manager and Headteacher. The position is part-time, totaling 25 hours per week during term time, along with additional responsibilities. Candidates should have experience in an office environment and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, accompanied by strong organisational and interpersonal skills. Training will be provided if necessary, with a supportive staff team environment.
Date required: From 2nd February 2025 or as soon as possible
Contract type: Part Time 25 hours a week (8:30‑4:00 Monday to Wednesday / Thursday 8:30‑12:30)
Contract term: Fixed Term 1 year

North Walkden is a vibrant and successful primary school with a skilled and happy staff team. We are looking to appoint an administrative assistant to assist the School Business Manager from next February 2026.
The post is a permanent position for 25 hours per week, worked over four days as stipulated above. The role is term‑time only + one additional day.
The School Clerk will provide general clerical, financial and administrative support to the school under the direction of the Business Manager and Headteacher.
Experience within an office environment, with knowledge of school information management and financial systems would be an advantage. We currently use RM Integris management information system.
The successful applicant will have up-to-date knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft Office that can be demonstrated at interview, a high level of organisational skills and outstanding interpersonal skills with both children and adults. The role requires working to deadlines, using own initiative and working as part of a small team.
Training will be available if necessary. Visits to school are welcomed and can be arranged with School Business Manager, Mrs Liz Nolan.
