Job summary

Tai Pawb in Newport is seeking a part-time Scheme Support Officer for Clifton Place, a short-term supported accommodation service. The role requires flexibility to cover days, evenings, weekends and waking nights to support a diverse group of customers.

You will work with a team to provide housing related support, enabling people to live as independently as possible, through workshops, health and safety checks, and community partnerships.

• Experience in housing-related support is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Workers in delivering tenancy management and health and wellbeing workshops.
• Carry out health and safety and wellbeing checks within the scheme.

Job description

One part-time (36hrs) Scheme Support Officer in a short term Supported Accommodation service in Newport. The role requires flexibility to shifts across days, evenings, weekends and waking nights.

About the role

This is a Scheme Support Officer role based in our Supported accommodation service, Clifton Place, Newport. We have a team of Scheme Support officers, Lead Project Workers, Project Workers and, Accommodation Coordinator providing 24/7 Support to our diverse group of customers.

Working in a team, you will provide support to a range of families, young people, pregnant women individuals with physical disabilities, mental health, substance misuse and individuals who have been trafficked from other countries. You will provide housing related supported to equip our customers with the knowledge, skills and tools that they need to be able to live independent lives.

As a scheme support officer you will be required to:

• Supporting Project Workers in delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
• Carrying out health and safety checks + wellbeing checks within the scheme
• Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have
• Building community links and establishing partnerships that benefit our customers

You will be faced with complex behaviours and needs. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental and manage disputes or conflicts appropriately.
