Job description
Overview

Element are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sales Ledger Clerk to join our Credit Control team. The role will be a 9 month maternity cover and will focus on managing and maintaining accurate customer data. Ensuring the integrity of the sales ledger and supporting the wider credit control function. You will play a key role in safeguarding cash flow, maintaining strong financial records, and ensuring customer information is up-to-date and compliant.

Hybrid working pattern: 3 days in office & 2 days from home

Responsibilities
  • Manage ongoing customer data ensuring all records are accurate, complete and compliant with internal policies.
  • Maintain and update the sales ledger to reflect current customer account information.
  • Verify and validate customer data (credit checks, VAT numbers, company details etc.) as required.
  • Support credit control activities by providing up-to-date ledger information.
  • Collaborate with finance and sales teams to ensure smooth data flow and resolution of customer queries.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and company policies relating to data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Identify and implement improvements in customer data management and sales ledger processes.
Skills / Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a sales ledger, accounts receivable, or credit control role.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of customer data.
  • Experience with ERP / accounting systems (D365 Navision, BI Reporting) desirable.
  • Excel and general MS Office skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organised, proactive and able to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of credit control principles and customer onboarding processes is advantageous.
