Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is hiring a Sales Assistant for our Truro branch. You’ll help trade customers, offer product advice, process enquiries by phone or email, and identify opportunities to grow sales on the shop floor.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday 7.30am-5.00pm with Saturday mornings on a rota, and includes benefits such as annual leave, a pension, potential bonuses, and staff discounts. A proactive team player is ideal.

Qualifications

• Previous face to face sales and customer service experience essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence is preferential.
• Warehouse experience is desirable.
• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal.
• Eagerness to learn with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding needs and providing advice.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously.
• Making outbound calls to previous customers to regain business.
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch.
• General warehouse duties including stock intake, put away, and picking/packing orders.

As a Sales Assistant based in our Truro branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm and Saturday mornings 08.00am - 12.00pm on a rota basis.
