Job summary

PLUMB CENTRE in Blunsdon St Andrew, Wiltshire, is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our branch team. You will deliver to customers, assist on the trade counter, and respond to inquiries with clear, friendly advice.

The full-time role includes warehouse duties and stock handling, with potential to grow within the Wolseley Group as part of a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• A Driving Licence is essential.
• Plumbing & heating knowledge is ideal.
• Previous face-to-face sales and customer service experience is essential.
• Warehouse experience is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills are required.
• Team player with a can-do attitude and willingness to help in all areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliveries to customers in local area using a 3.5T automatic van.
• Assist trade customers at the counter with advice and product recommendations.
• Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Make outbound calls to regain business from previous customers.
• Identify and pursue sales opportunities within the branch.
• Handle general warehouse tasks including stock checks, picking and packing.

Job Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers in the local area.


• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and providing advice and product recommendations.


• Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.


• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business.


• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers.


• Performing general warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system, putting it away, and picking and packing customer orders, which may involve manual handling of heavy stock such as boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets.

Working Hours

This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00, and alternate Saturday mornings 08:00 - 12:00.
