Job summary

Wolseley UK Limited, operating Plumb Centre in Truro, is hiring a Sales Assistant to support customers at the trade counter with product recommendations and guidance. You will handle phone and email inquiries, and work to win back customers while driving branch sales.

The role is full-time with 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings on a rota. Competitive benefits include annual leave, a pension, potential bonuses, enhanced leave and staff discounts.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm and Saturday mornings 08.00am - 12.00pm on a rota basis.

Requirements

• A Full UK Driving Licence is preferential
• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience is essential
• Warehouse experience
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
