Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is seeking a Sales Assistant in Swindon to deliver friendly service and drive sales. You will work at the trade counter and on the delivery round supporting customers with product advice and timely orders.

The role is full-time, based in Swindon, with a 40-hour week, and requires a driving licence. Benefits include pension, annual leave and employee discounts, plus achievement-based bonuses.

Qualifications

• Driving licence is essential.
• Face-to-face sales and customer service experience is essential.
• Warehouse experience is beneficial.
• Plumbing & heating knowledge is ideal but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers in the local area.
• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and providing advice and product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Making outbound calls to previous customers to regain their business.
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers.
• General warehouse duties including stock entry, put away, picking and packing orders.

As a Sales Assistant based in our Swindon branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers in the local area
• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and alternate Saturday mornings 08.00am - 12.00pm.
