Job summary

Plumb Centre in Brighton is seeking a Sales Assistant to help customers at the trade counter, listening to needs and offering product recommendations.

Responsibilities include responding to enquiries by phone and email, supporting quick deliveries, assisting with warehouse duties, and helping to grow branch sales while maintaining high standards of service. Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with Saturday overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous Face to Face customer service/sales experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales particularly focusing on customers with reduced or inactive spending.
• Assisting with general warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and putting away deliveries which will involve manual handling of heavy items e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets.
• Driving a 3.5T van to deliver plumbing and heating supplies to our customers including building sites, business and private residences.
• Ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch.

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 07:30-16:30 or 08:00-17:00 with 1hrs break and 2 in 7 Saturday 08:00-12:00 paid as overtime.

Requirements

• A Full UK Manual Driving Licence would be advantageous.
• Prior industry or trade experience would be advantageous.
• Previous Face to Face customer service/sales experience is essential, Prior warehouse experience would be ideal.
• Willingness to work as a part of a team and to take on a diverse role.
• Proactive and eager to learn, demonstrating a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
