Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is seeking a Sales Assistant at its Blackpool branch to help customers on the trade counter and through phone/email inquiries. The role includes identifying sales opportunities and supporting warehouse tasks, including stock handling and order picking.

The position offers a £26,695 base salary plus bonus and generous benefits, with a typical 40-hour week Monday to Friday and occasional Saturday mornings.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience is preferable

• Some warehouse experience
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
