Job summary

Wolseley UK Limited, operating as Plumb Centre in Northampton, is seeking a Sales Assistant to join the branch team. Based in Northampton, you will deliver products to customers, assist trade customers at the counter, and handle enquiries by phone and email with a proactive, customer-first approach.

The role is full-time, 40 hours, with a 6:30am–3:30pm schedule and regular Saturday overtime. Full UK driving licence and a background in face-to-face sales are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a face to face sales/customer service position.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to support all branch functions.

Responsibilities

• Drive 3.5t van for branch deliveries and local collections.
• Assist customers at the trade counter with product recommendations.
• Handle inquiries via phone and email with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Carry out general warehouse duties including picking/packing orders.

As a Sales Assistant based in our Northampton branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Driving 3.5t van for branch deliveries and collections to local customers
• Assisting customers at the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations.
• Handling customer enquiries via phone and email with a positive, proactive attitude, building strong customer relationships and ensuring excellent customer service.
• Carrying out general warehouse duties, including picking and packing customer orders and unpacking stock to be booked in on our system and put away in the warehouse

This is a full time, 40 hour permanent role - Monday to Friday between 6:30am - 3:30pm and one Saturday per month, 08:00 - 12.00pm (paid as overtime) once trained.

• Knowledge in plumbing & heating is beneficial
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence
• Proven experience in a face to face sales/customer service position
• Confident with Van driving
