Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is seeking a Sales Assistant for our Derby branch. You will serve customers at the trade counter, advise on products, and handle inquiries by phone and email with a proactive approach.

You will also make outbound calls to re-engage previous customers, pursue branch sales opportunities, and perform warehouse duties including stock bookings and order picking. This full-time role runs 40 hours weekly with Saturday rota mornings.

Qualifications

• Face to face sales and customer service experience is required.
• Warehouse experience and ability to handle stock and packing duties.
• Strong customer service skills and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

Job description

As a Sales Assistant based in our Derby branch you'll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

Requirements / Qualifications

• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience
• Warehouse experience
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic

£26,695 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 4.30pm and Saturday mornings on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
