Job summary

Plumb Centre in High Wycombe (HP11 1LH) is seeking a Sales Assistant to support customers at the branch. You will advise on plumbing and heating products, handle inquiries by phone and email, and help drive sales while maintaining stock and arranging deliveries.

A full-time role with a 40-hour week, Mon-Fri and occasional Saturday mornings on a rota. The position requires a positive attitude, customer service experience, and a willingness to assist across the branch.

Responsibilities

As a Sales Assistant based in our High Wycombe branch, you’ll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets
• Driving a van making deliveries to our customers in the local area

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between - and Saturday mornings on a 1 in 4 or 5 rota basis -

• A Driving Licence is highly desirable
• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
