Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is seeking a Sales Assistant in Loughborough (LE11 5XW) on a fixed-term contract until May 2027. You will serve customers at the trade counter, respond to inquiries, and drive sales while assisting in stock control and packing orders.

As a Sales Assistant based in our Loughborough branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

This is a Fixed Term Contract until May 2027 working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 4.30pm and alternate Saturday mornings on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.

• A Driving Licence is beneficial
• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience
• Warehouse experience
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
• To be comfortable lifting heavy items
