Job summary

Wolseley UK Limited in Glasgow is seeking a Sales Assistant to support trade customers at the Glasgow branch, providing product recommendations and quotations. You will build relationships to drive repeat business and respond to inquiries via phone and email with prompt quotes.

The role also includes general warehouse duties, stock checks, and handling orders, with training provided for plumbing and heating products. The position offers a 40-hour week and overtime on Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Plumbing and heating industry or merchant experience is beneficial but not essential as comprehensive training will be provided.
• Retail sales and customer service experience.
• Previous warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations and quotations.
• Building relationships with customers with the aim of driving repeat business, enhancing customer experience, and maximising lifetime value
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email providing quotes promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the systems and putting it away and picking & packing customer orders which will involve manual handling of heavy items.

Contract: This is a full time role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm, plus Saturday mornings on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm paid as overtime.

Location: Sales Assistant based in Glasgow.
