Job summary

Plumb Centre in Hereford is seeking a Sales Assistant to support customers at the trade counter, answer enquiries by phone and email, and help drive sales for both new and existing customers. The role requires warehouse involvement, stock handling, and a collaborative approach to branch operations.

The ideal candidate has experience in face-to-face sales and customer service, with essential warehouse exposure and a willingness to learn.

Job description

As a Sales Assistant based in our Hereford branch, you'll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets

Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal

Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience

Warehouse experience

The ability to deliver outstanding customer service

To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm and Saturday mornings on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
